Channel 72 is Mammoth’s Information Station, broadcasting on the NPG Cable system to the communities of Mammoth and June Lake. Channel 72 viewers are entertained with exciting action adventure programming and kept up to date on the happenings in Mammoth Lakes year round.
Created by Dan McConnell, our programming is updated weekly and features current outdoor action footage, updated snow/weather conditions, current/local events and mountain lifestyle. Dan has lived in Mammoth Lakes since 1979 and brings with him not only a keen, creative eye for cinematography, but also an insightful local knowledge to our broadcasts that only 27 years of living in the Eastern Sierra can bring. Our winter programming includes skiing, snowboarding, telemarking, cross country, snowmobiling etc. Our summer programming features fishing, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, etc
Channel 72 is on a two hour repeating loop and features daily weather reports and snow conditions. Howard Scheckter is the Channel 72 weatherman and gives detailed weather reports throughout each week.
Channel 72 encourages our viewers to submit any videos they have made of outdoor, action adventure activities, particularly in the Eastern Sierra region. Submissions can be made to the Channel 72 offices located within the Booky Joint, located in the Minaret Plaza next to Von's.
